Thought I'd raise this discussion point to hopefully get concensus.

My view is that the beta has been great but there have been a lot of armies built they have expanded before restrictions and balences were in place (not to mention the missions resets :D)

It has been mentioned that there will be a reset when the site exists Beta, so what are everyone's thoughts.

My personal view is I am for it, testing at the end of the day is just testing and I'm all up for starting again with the full measures in place and to start battles fresh (plus I've learned a lot over the beta so will miss some obvious errors on my part).

I would say no because the changes and updates to armies are universal, right? :/

If we are forced to anyways, we should all get some kind of "we participatedi n the beta' medal or award or something to show that we participated in the beta ~.~

It's worth noting that if a reset happened, all players (who participated) in the alpha would be given an achievement (these would be implemented) - as well as a special unit or something along those lines.

Hadn't considered that angle but having a bonus / achievement / unit that was only available to beta players certainly sounds awesome (badge of honour :D)

Maybe a larger sized starting ship? or free gold :P

I do like to see a reset happen. It would be unfair to all other players who start after the beta. And a finde special unit would be very nice, and an achievment or something ;)

A reset could temporarily help newer players, so that could be good. Other than that there haven't been any drastic economic changes or anything the a reset would be needed for. 
 
A special unit for being in the beta does sound like something I would want though. :)

I am thinking the testing reward should be very rare (in the halo story line) like some UNSC thing or something forerunner that is (again) very rare

While a starting scenario would be fun to test, what I imagine you'd really want in the beta is data of the game running like it would normally.

Maybe decreasing all score, RP and XP by 10% or 20% or something like that would make things more fair, but I doubt a full reset is needed or wanted for the results you'd probably want to get.

I don't see any point in a reset, all it would do is tax those players that have been helping from the start. Since you can't farm anymore there hasn't really been any means to get ill gotten RP or units and so the reset wouldn't be making it 'fair' like the first one did.

If the rest did happen, you would keep your battle history, and account, but would lose your score-units-mission progress etc. Reason being people got stuff alot easier since its beta. In the release it should take a lot longer, and units should be harder to purcahse,but easier to manage. In order to increase the speed of testing everything was made more achievable.

A reset of sorts for the final release might be okay, but I can't really offer my opinion on that yet as it may change before we get there.

For alpha to beta I wouldn't see the point, though

I would prefer not, as I worked hard to get from 105 to 37. If we do, I'd be okay if we got a slight boost to our beginning cR to help boost up a bit.

I am coming to the conclusion that a reset will be needed. Mainly because the dynamic of the game will change. Bare in mind, once the reset has happened there won't ever be another!

When it does happen, people will be given an achievement, and a special unit and some more bonuses for participating in the alpha :D

I've debated it a while, and I have concluded that I agree with a reset. I like the idea of starting fresh with everyone, and I know I can just as easily get back to the top as I did before. Plus, with a reset comes special awards for having been part of it from the beginning, which is way cool.

Can you make it so that the special unit is an exclusive purchase rather than just a gimme? This way we can maybe decide how many we want or if we want one in our army at the time, be able to replace the unit if it/he is destroyed during a mission. Also, with it being a purchase, and the possibility of having multiple, means that it will be something we can earn. It could have a minimum level requirement and price just like other units, and it will have to be balanced against other units available.

I think that if there's a beta reset, UNSC Warfare should do like what Wargaming did for World of Tanks Xbox 360 Beta testers, give them some gold and something special that only they will ever have. So perhaps something like an Autumn-Class Cruiser or perhaps even Master Chief himself.

Im new and al that but i agree that if there is a reset the alpha/original players should get an achievement or maybe an exclusive unit like one covenant unit like an elite but that would be it.
