Release Ahead, Development, Testing UNSC Warfare

So as development steams ahead we are coming against more and more directions to take the game in and currently I am debating whether to include a more theoretical feature that will offer a revenue stream to players as well as much more. The problem of course is both balance and over complication, and whether it’s just a vanity feature. In addition it’s whether it will even make it in the v0.1.0 release which people will be testing.

What’s that? You want to know more about the version numbers? Looks like you came to the right place! Currently, for those interested we are on v0.0.6! Here is a list of what needs to be done to get to v0.1.0 and a little hint at the future.

  • v0.0.55 – Full Profile page, and basic unit management
  • v0.0.6 – You are here.
  • v0.0.65 – Basic Notification System, and Messages between players – reading, sending, deleting and Mass Mail functionality.
  • v0.0.7 – Amend Unit Management page to be more modular, and fix issues that are present.
  • v0.0.75 – Experience Service, Item Reward framework, functional registration and login system for new signups.
  • v0.0.8 – Auto Resolve Battle System integrated, working with variety of scenarios.
  • v0.0.85 – Integrate limits of current Ship Type, and add in different Store Types
  • v0.0.9 – Add more efficient Admin Tools and Chatbox for players
  • v0.0.95 – Testing and Unit/Weapon Insertion
  • v0.1.0 – Test Release Build – invite all early registrants to join in on testing.
  • V0.1.1 – Fix Immediate bugs and errors
  • V0.1.15 – Setup Unitu3D Solution
  • V0.1.2 – Recruit new members to team

So there you have it! That’s how it’s looking at the moment. People are always asking about how long it’s going to take, but to be honest I can’t say. If I had 100% time dedicated to this, it could be 1-2 weeks, unfortunately I don’t. I can say that I plan to get a lot done this weekend and will probably do another small update on Sunday. Obviously we don’t want this rushed, and I don’t want to release what we currently have as you will be stuck for things to do.
Just to outline what’s going on in testing and so we are all on the same page, this is no halo test, this is UNSC Warfare! Please remember that when the time comes you will be testing the most basic features:

  1. Unit purchases,
  2. Upgrades,
  3. Auto resolve battles,
  4. Messaging,
  5. etc

 It will be tedious. There will be server wipes, and it will be repetitive, but this is all required in order to make the game better and build upon what we have, so please stick with it. This isn’t a demo, this is a TEST, and feedback will be key. People who provide the most feedback will be the people who test the next build first.

This is all very interesting
